Dune: Flourish Brogue, Pink

Hello and happy hump day to you all, (I’m in NYC so my timing is fine over here)!

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I’d had some recent success in Dune, but I’ve left you on a cliffhanger since, so I figured I’d best share what that success was.

Check. These. Out…

Dune, Flourish, £85

I saw these beautiful brogue type (no holes) shoes online and thought I’d be really bloomin’ lucky to find them in the shop so soon after they’d appeared online, but it turned out that luck was with me. Dune in Reading had them in and I was in love instantly.

For me, this pink colour is perfect for spring / summer because it beats away the drabness of winter, without being too much of an in-your-face statement.

So, I duly tried these on and actually walked around the shop with some very helpful assistants for a while. I usually wear a size 7 / 40 but I found that while they fitted, there was a bit of room in them. So I tried the 6 / 39 instead and that’s quite snug but probably going to give a bit. In the absence of half sizes, where a 6.5 would have been perfect, I eventually opted for the 6. These are quite generous length wise so my toes aren’t squashed and dropping a size means the width fits me much better.

I still need to wear these in a bit because the heels are now so snug that they’re going to rub slightly as I get used to the shoes, but I think that will ease with time.

I know that not everyone will want to take the gamble but if you do, definitely go and try them on at least because you might also be able to take a size down and achieve a closer fit.

Let me know if you do! x

Dune: Harvest Elasticated Flats

Well hello again! I promised you in my last post that I have been out and about trying various shoes and the next installment comes from Dune. I was in my local store trying on some awesome shoes, (post coming soon) when I spotted these and thought I’d test them out.

The shoes in question are the below; a pretty cute looking pair of practical pumps if ever there were!

As you can see, these beauties come in black and silver – for what it’s worth, my money is on the silver pair for summer. They’re just so versatile!

The higher price tag and the Dune label means that you get more than your average high street shoe out of these and they are made from gorgeous, soft leather. For me, that’s a bonus as leather moulds to your feet so much better than synthetic materials do.

Anyhow, I tried these on as Dune are usually fairly narrow and the elasticated back had me all hopeful. They are a good, snug fit on my feet but I found that they were just a smidge short. I have quite big toes so I had that whole “toe sticking up into the leather making a toe shape” thing going on. I hate that! If you’ve got more delicate, feminine toes than my beasties, these might just be perfect for you though. They really are great shoes and I definitely recommend trying them on if you’re looking for your next comfy but pretty pair of shoes.

Anyone else had any shoe based successes recently? x
